Ivan t
I play with Classical Revolution RVA, Richmond Philharmonic, and other ensembles in the greater Richmond area. In my ten-year teaching career, I have taught a diverse set of students of various backgrounds and needs. I take a client-centered approach to teaching wherein each lesson is catered to the student's' preferences and goals. My teaching materials range from contemporary exercises to traditional etudes. It is my goal throughout each lesson to provide a space for each student to become confident and comfortable with their instrument. I have always felt that ultimately it is my job to facilitate an environment for my students to develop their own natural strengths and abilities. I consider playing and teaching to be a fun experience— an experience that I hope to convey to each student.

Jerome K.
Taking his first cues from his parents , both Richmond Symphony musicians and RPS music teachers , Jerome’s musical pursuits have been running since early childhood. Following his father’s footsteps , his studies began on the Cello at age 7. Shortly thereafter , he found a paragon in guitarist Randy Rhoads , whose playing fused the precision of classical music with aesthetic structure and swagger. Jerome added the guitar to his formal pursuits , studying with VCU guitar chair John Patykula and composer Jonathan Romeo. Having made significant progress , he was putting his own songs together and playing the Richmond club circuit
in his early and mid teens
Jerome’s move to NYC afforded him many opportunities . He’s enjoyed the privilege of Co-writing , sharing the stage , and studying with Major Label staff writers , multi-platinum producers , Emmy-winning composers , stadium-crushing rock stars , widely respected voice teachers , and even a childhood hero or two. Combining intuitive problem solving and mastery with novelty , he seeks to carry this spirit of inspiration to his amazing students , whom he feels grateful to know. When not teaching , Jerome is preparing his catalog of works for release or singing with his son.

I have been playing and studying guitar from the age of 10. In my 6 years of playing guitar I have learned diverse playing styles and techniques. I play annually in my uncle's band for the powhatan fish fry. My liking of music and guitar stems from my parents inspiring me to always chase after my love of the instrument. It is my goal to teach my students all of the information they need to succeed in their music playing abilities, and to cater my lessons to their specific needs.
